Hello!

I’m Lauren Veazey (she/her), MA LPCC NCC, a licensed professional counselor candidate and Women's Mental Health Specialist serving clients in Colorado. I’m so glad you’re here!

You might be experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression, or maybe you're still on the path to parenthood, navigating the emotional weight of fertility challenges. Perhaps you're feeling disconnected from who you once were due to a life transition, trauma, grief, or a shift in your relationship. Anxiety may have become a constant companion, a low hum of worry, or something louder that makes daily life feel harder than it should. Or maybe you're navigating the tender, exhausting work of raising children in a world that can feel overwhelming and uncertain, wondering how to stay present for them when you're barely keeping up yourself.

I’ve been there too. There is hope in turning toward your pain, embracing life’s complexities, and finding your peace within, and I’m ready to help you on your path to healing.

My Approach to Therapy

It's important to me that you feel safe to be your authentic self during our sessions, so my attention is focused on understanding, supporting, and challenging you in a compassionate and non-judgmental way. My clients appreciate my warmth, positive energy, and (admittedly cheesy) sense of humor.

I believe that change is possible, and everyone is worthy of a life well lived. Yes, life is tough, but so are you. I also believe that so much of what women carry isn't just personal, it's the result of systems, expectations, and pressures that were never designed to work in our favor.

Therapy, for me, is a space to honor both: the hard inner work, and the very real weight of the world outside.

To support you in uncovering your innate strengths and cultivating skills to cope with the challenges you face, I offer a client-centered, holistic approach to therapy informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and feminist-based modalities.

My Ideal Client

I have a passion for helping women confront emotional and mental obstacles, particularly those navigating postpartum anxiety or depression, the perinatal period, or fertility challenges; managing anxiety that's become hard to carry alone; parenting in this messy world; and processing grief, loss, or shifts in identity and relationships.

Do you tend to take better care of others than you do yourself? Do you frequently worry that you're not doing enough, or that you're simply not enough? Do you feel the weight of all the roles you're expected to fill, and fill perfectly? And are you ready to claim some time and space for you, to feel more grounded, more like yourself, and more able to show up for the life you want? Then we'd make a great fit!

The Concerns I Specialize in Treating

Counseling for Women's Issues

Women today face a unique set of challenges and societal pressures, from balancing multiple roles and responsibilities to dealing with systemic issues like gender inequality, body image, and identity. I am passionate about supporting women through these struggles, offering a feminist-based therapeutic approach that validates your experiences and empowers you to overcome obstacles. Whether you’re dealing with self-esteem issues, relationship challenges, or societal expectations, I provide a supportive space to explore these concerns and work towards a more fulfilling life on your terms.

Counseling for Perinatal Issues/Postpartum Depression, Anxiety & Adjustment

Navigating the perinatal and postpartum periods—as well as the early motherhood years—can be incredibly challenging, filled with a mix of joy, uncertainty, and sometimes overwhelming emotions. Whether you are dealing with postpartum depression, anxiety, or the complex feelings that accompany becoming a parent, I provide a safe and understanding space to explore and address these concerns. Together, we can work on coping strategies, self-care techniques, and building a supportive network to help you regain your sense of balance and well-being during this intense season of your life.

Counseling for Fertility Challenges and Reproductive Mental Health

Fertility challenges can be an emotionally draining and isolating experience, often leading to feelings of grief, frustration, and a sense of helplessness. I am here to support you through this journey, offering a compassionate ear and tools to manage the emotional toll of fertility struggles. It is possible to cultivate hope and resilience as you navigate your options and make informed decisions about your present and future.

Counseling for Grief and Loss

Experiencing grief and loss can be a profoundly painful and life-altering process. Whether you are mourning the loss of a loved one, dealing with the end of a significant relationship, or facing other significant life changes, I am here to help you navigate through your grief. In our sessions, we will explore your emotions, honor your loss, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. My goal is to support you in finding a path to healing, where you can remember and honor your loss while also moving forward with your life in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

Counseling for Anxiety

Anxiety can manifest in many forms, from constant worry and fear to physical symptoms that disrupt your daily life. It can be overwhelming and sometimes paralyzing, but you don’t have to manage it alone. I specialize in helping clients understand the roots of their anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, and create a toolkit for managing stress. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques, we will work together to reduce your anxiety and improve your overall quality of life.

My Story

I grew up in Fort Collins, CO and when it came time for me to attend college, I was torn on whether to become an English teacher or a mental health therapist. As a first-generation college student and the oldest child in my family, I didn’t have any guidance on how to make such a decision and was basing my choice on a handful of tidbits I was confident about: I knew I wanted to help people, I was an avid reader endlessly fascinated by the human condition, and I’d often been told I was a good listener.

I ultimately chose to pursue a career in education, but in my fifteen-year career in the field, the invisible pull to become a therapist followed me around. My desire to change careers was further solidified after the birth of my second child when I experienced postpartum anxiety. I felt out of control and would have prolonged bouts of all-consuming worry that affected me mentally, physiologically, and emotionally. Therapy helped me learn how to live my life—in all its complicated, challenging glory—by cultivating resilience and a deep sense of well-being, and I am passionate about helping my clients do the same.

Now I live in Longmont, CO with my husband and two young children. I love reading, taking long walks, being silly with my kids, and doing puzzles while listening to podcasts (nerd alert!)
