Hello!

I’m Krista Turner (she/her), MA ADDC, providing online counseling for women throughout Colorado. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand. My role is to help you make sense of those experiences with compassion while giving you practical tools to feel more grounded and connected in your life and relationships.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in helping you understand the patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck. Many people come to therapy carrying the weight of past trauma, relationship struggles, or cycles of anxiety, addiction, or emotional overwhelm. Together, we slow down and explore what’s happening beneath the surface, looking at how your experiences, nervous system, and relationships have shaped the way you cope and connect today. I integrate approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, DBT, mindfulness, and somatic awareness to help you build practical skills for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and lasting change.

What makes my work unique is the balance between insight and embodiment. In our sessions, we don’t just talk about problems—we pay attention to how your body and emotions respond in real time, helping you develop a deeper sense of safety, self-understanding, and resilience. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported and understood while gaining tools that empower you to move forward with greater clarity, connection, and intention in your life.

My Ideal Client

I work best with clients who are ready to explore their inner world with honesty and curiosity, even when it feels uncomfortable. You may be navigating trauma or complex trauma, working through challenges with substance use or recovery, or feeling stuck in patterns within your relationships, attachment styles, or family dynamics.

You might be experiencing anxiety, difficulty regulating emotions, or going through a significant life transition that’s calling for growth and change. You don’t have to have everything figured out—just a willingness to show up, reflect, and engage in the process.

In our work together, I draw from evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, and somatic techniques to support nervous system regulation and deeper healing.

I strive to create a safe, collaborative, and compassionate space where you can explore patterns, process emotional experiences, and develop practical tools for lasting change and wellbeing.

Therapy is a collaborative process. While it can bring up difficult emotions at times, it also creates meaningful opportunities for insight, growth, and transformation. You are always encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and take an active role in your healing.

The Concerns I Specialize in Treating

Counseling for Addiction, Recovery & Emotional Coping

Many people turn to substances or behaviors to manage pain, stress, or unresolved trauma. In our work together, we explore the emotional and relational roots of addiction while developing healthier ways to cope, regulate emotions, and rebuild a stable sense of self. My style balances compassion with practical tools that support long-term recovery and accountability.

Counseling for Complex Trauma (CPTSD) & Nervous System Healing

I work with individuals who feel stuck in patterns of emotional overwhelm, hypervigilance, people-pleasing, or difficulty feeling safe in their own bodies. My approach focuses on helping you understand how trauma lives in the nervous system while building skills for grounding, emotional regulation, and self-trust through somatic awareness, mindfulness, and trauma-informed therapy

Counseling for High-Functioning Anxiety & Emotional Burnout

Many of my clients are capable, thoughtful people who appear successful on the outside but feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or disconnected internally. Together we slow down, explore the pressures and expectations you carry, and build tools that help you regulate stress, reconnect with yourself, and live more intentionally.

Counseling for Attachment Wounds & Relationship Patterns

If you find yourself repeating painful relationship dynamics—fear of abandonment, difficulty trusting, or feeling disconnected from partners—therapy can help you understand the attachment patterns driving those experiences. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy and relational approaches, I help clients develop deeper emotional awareness and more secure ways of connecting.

Counseling for Healing After Toxic or Emotionally Abusive Relationships

Leaving or recovering from unhealthy relationship dynamics can create confusion, self-doubt, and emotional exhaustion. I help clients process these experiences, rebuild confidence in their instincts, and develop stronger boundaries so they can move forward with clarity and self-respect.

My Story

I became a therapist because I have always been drawn to understanding people — what shapes us, how we cope with pain, and how healing happens in connection with others.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. These experiences have deepened my belief that healing is possible when people feel safe enough to explore their story with honesty and compassion.

What I love most about this work is witnessing the moment when clients begin to see themselves with greater understanding and kindness. Therapy becomes a space where patterns start to make sense, emotions become more manageable, and people reconnect with their own strength and resilience.

It’s incredibly meaningful to support clients as they move from simply surviving toward living with more intention, connection, and self-trust.
