My Approach to Therapy
My approach to therapy is to meet you where you are with unconditional acceptance and empathy so we can build a trusting relationship that allows you to safely explore your experiences and goals. By listening and giving you the tools to cope, heal, and grow, I empower you to move toward a life of balance and possibilities.
My Ideal Client
I help women and LGBTQIA+ individuals navigate the stresses, anxiety, and identity issues that can come with everyday challenges or big life transitions like relationship changes or the search for a new career. Whether you're navigating a challenging experience or seeking support as you embark on a new path, together we can explore ways to help you regain control over your mental wellness and life.
The Concerns I Specialize in Treating
Counseling for Anxiety
Anxiety can take many forms, such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, phobias, and even anticipatory anxiety for an upcoming life transition. I understand the challenges that come with living with anxiety and how debilitating it can be to your daily functioning. That's why I use research-backed treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy that are customized to each of my clients needs. I recognize that women are diagnosed with anxiety at twice the rate of men, and therefore strive to provide a supportive and empathetic environment that honors your unique needs and contributing factors to the type of anxieties that most impact women like you.
Counseling for Depression
As a women’s depression counselor, my approach is tailored to each client and takes into account your biological factors, inherited traits, and personal life circumstances. I understand and explore how women are more susceptible to depression and how gender-based oppression can be a significant, contributing factor to depression. My goal is to provide a supportive and safe environment for you to explore your feelings and learn effective coping strategies to manage depression, which may range from talk therapy to support building better self care habits.
Counseling for Trauma & PTSD
As a mental health therapist specializing in trauma, I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the unique experiences of women. My approach involves creating a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore and heal from past traumas. As a graduate student intern developing my skills, I work closely with a supervisor to employ evidence-based trauma treatments. I aim to foster healing, growth, and a renewed sense of self-worth by empowering women to reconnect with their inner strength and resilience. My goal is to support each woman on her journey to recovery, helping her reclaim her life and achieve lasting well-being.
Counseling for Women's Self-Esteem
Improving women's self-esteem is a top priority as a women's mental health therapist in training. Through self esteem counseling, we'll work together to identify and overcome any obstacles that may be holding you back from loving and treating yourself well. Whether you've been diagnosed with a mental health condition related to body image or simply want to feel more confident, I use evidence-based approaches to create a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs.
Counseling for Life Transitions
I recognize that life is full of transitions, some welcomed and some not so welcomed. If you find yourself wanting an objective partner to navigate changes in life with confidence and grace you're in the right place. I offer counseling services designed to support you through challenging life events, such as divorce, career change, and an empty nest. I offer a compassionate and personalized approach to help you process the complex emotions that come with each new phase of life and learn to cope with change.
My Story
I was struggling with crippling anxiety and depression when I reached out in vulnerability, fear, and the smallest bit of hope to a mental health counselor. I had been on medication for years, and while it helped significantly sometimes, there were other times when I felt myself being pulled under by the weight of life, expectations, and hopelessness. On top of that, my father had recently died of cancer, and I was struggling with processing my grief. The therapist met me with compassion and total acceptance, and together we got through that time, uncovering valuable, life-changing insights as we went. In learning to love and trust myself, I was able to make much-needed changes to go from surviving to thriving. I was also empowered with tools that I still use to cope with daily challenges and better listen to myself and what I need.
One of those powerful insights was that I could use my lifelong interest in psychology and passion for serving others as a mental health counselor.

I am thrilled to be a part of a practice that supports women and the queer community, and I’m looking forward to meeting you and learning how I can best support you. I am thrilled to be a part of a practice that supports women and understands the complexities we all face in our relationships with family and as we navigate cultural and societal expectations. I’m looking forward to meeting you and learning how I can best support you on the road you’re walking.
