Hello!

I’m Sydney Grau (she/her), a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) in the state of Colorado. I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the CACREP-accredited counselor education program at Adams State University.

I offer a collaborative, holistic space for therapy that goes beyond surface-level support. Together, we’ll gently excavate your inner world, tracing patterns, making meaning, and integrating insight in a way that fosters real self-understanding and compassion. My goal is to help you reconnect with your intuitive wisdom and step more fully into your authentic self.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe that every person holds an innate ability to heal and grow when given the right support and tools. Therapy, for me, is about co-creating a collaborative and empowering space where we can explore not just what is happening in the present, but also the patterns and experiences from your past that may still be shaping your life today. Understanding where these patterns began allows us to break free from what no longer serves you and to create new, healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

My approach is integrated and holistic, blending deep exploration with practical, actionable tools. While I work from a feminist and person-centered foundation, I also draw on insights from attachment theory, psychodynamic work, existential thought, and cognitive-behavioral strategies.

I believe therapy is most powerful when it pairs insight with structure, so I often incorporate bibliotherapy and meaningful homework to help clients continue their growth beyond our sessions.  My role is not to “fix” you but to walk alongside you—helping you connect with your strengths, develop awareness, and embrace a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

I am LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse-affirming, sex-positive, and passionate about working with clients who want to “go deeper” in therapy. I also offer integration support for clients who are processing psychedelic experiences and want help grounding those insights into their daily lives.

The Concerns I Specialize in Treating

Counseling for Anxiety & Panic

Living with anxiety or panic can feel overwhelming and isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. I work collaboratively with clients to understand the underlying patterns and triggers that fuel anxiety, helping you develop compassionate awareness and practical coping strategies. Through a blend of cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and somatic awareness, we create a personalized toolkit to manage symptoms and reclaim a sense of calm and safety in your daily life.

Counseling for Neurodiversity and ADHD

Being neurodiverse, whether through ADHD, autism, or other differences, means experiencing the world uniquely, and that uniqueness deserves celebration and understanding. I support neurodiverse adults in uncovering their strengths while navigating challenges, helping you build self-compassion and tailored strategies that fit your life. Together, we explore how your brain works and co-create tools to improve focus, organization, and emotional regulation in ways that honor your individuality.

Counseling for Relationship Trauma & Narcissistic Abuse

Toxic and abusive relationships can leave deep emotional wounds that impact how you relate to yourself and others. I offer a safe, validating space where we can gently explore your experiences, identify unhealthy patterns, and build new ways of relating rooted in safety and self-worth. Healing from relational trauma is a process of reclaiming your voice, setting boundaries, and learning to trust yourself again—steps we take together with care and respect for your pace.

Counseling for Couples and Families

Relationships are dynamic and layered, and they can bring both joy and challenge. Whether you’re in a monogamous, polyamorous, or ethically non-monogamous relationship, I help individuals and partners explore relationship dynamics, deepen connection, strengthen communication, and rebuild trust. With a sex-positive lens, I also support clients exploring intimacy and sexuality, helping you cultivate authentic, satisfying relationships that honor your needs and values.

My Story

Before becoming a counselor, I spent years building a career in media production. While I loved the creativity of that work, I eventually realized it did not align with my values or my desire to do something more meaningful. My own profound experiences in therapy, particularly the way my therapist empowered me to leave and heal from abusive and toxic relationships, completely transformed my life. That experience showed me the incredible power of feeling truly seen and validated, and it inspired me to create that same kind of space for others who may be navigating their own pain and rediscovering their voice.

I have always had a deep appreciation for the power of storytelling—how our narratives shape who we are and who we become. Living with ADHD and anxiety has given me a personal understanding of what it means to rewrite my own story in a world that often isn’t built for neurodiverse minds. I would be honored to help you shape and own your story, finding the meaning and resilience that already exist within you.

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is another area of deep passion for me. My own transformative experiences with psychedelics have given me profound insights and lasting change, and I believe strongly in their potential to shift perspective, expand self-awareness, and even restructure the way we process and heal. I intend to pursue certification in psychedelic-assisted therapy, and I offer integration support for clients who want to ground and make sense of their experiences.

Alongside my counseling work, I continue to leverage my creative skills by producing and co-creating Her Time to Talk, the podcast for Her Time Therapy, as well as managing the practice’s social media pages. This blend of creativity and therapeutic work allows me to connect with others on multiple levels, always with the goal of fostering healing, empowerment, and authentic connection.
