Hello!
I’m Lurah Patrick (she/her), a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Candidate offering affordable counseling services to Her Time Therapy clients under the supervision of Dr. Janice Moran, LPC, and Adams State University professors.
I came to this work through a deeply personal path. After a successful career in real estate and raising three incredible children, I found myself at a major life transition, becoming an empty nester. During this time, I began volunteering with my therapy dog and discovered a calling I could no longer ignore: supporting others through the transformative and often challenging moments of life.
Therapy has played a powerful role in my own journey, helping me through a difficult divorce, personal reinvention, and the emotional ups and downs of parenting in a world shaped by social media, societal pressures, and constant change. These experiences give me a grounded sense of empathy, resilience, and understanding for those navigating anxiety, identity, family shifts, or simply the feeling of “What now?”

My Approach to Therapy
I offer a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative space where you can explore what’s weighing on you without fear or shame. My counseling style is client-centered and integrative, rooted in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that each of us has the capacity for growth and change. I meet you where you are, and walk alongside you as we make sense of life’s transitions and challenges.
I’m immersed in current research, supervised by experienced clinicians, and bring fresh insights from modern therapeutic approaches. My goal is to support you in uncovering clarity, building confidence, and finding peace in your next chapter.
My Ideal Client
I’m especially passionate about working with adults facing life transitions such as divorce, career changes, parenting challenges, and identity shifts. I also enjoy working with college students, parents, and individuals managing anxiety, self-esteem issues, or personal reinvention. If you're someone who feels stuck or unsure of what’s next, or if you're grieving the life you thought you'd have, I'm here to help you rediscover your sense of direction and self-worth.
Whether you're navigating big changes or simply craving space to reflect and grow, therapy can offer meaningful support. You don’t have to face it alone.
The Concerns I Specialize in Treating
Counseling for Life Transitions: Divorce, Empty Nesting, Midlife Identity Shifts, & Career Changes
Major life transitions can leave you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or even grieving the life you thought you’d have. Whether you’re navigating divorce, adjusting to an empty nest, experiencing a midlife identity shift, or exploring a new career path, therapy provides a safe, supportive space to process these changes. Together, we’ll explore your emotions, clarify your goals, and help you move forward with confidence and purpose. You don’t have to navigate life’s transitions alone—support is here.
Counseling for Parenting Support: Understanding Your Child’s Mental Health, Parenting Teens, Supporting Children in a Digital Age
Parenting in today’s world can feel like an uphill battle. From navigating your child’s mental health challenges to parenting teens in the age of social media, the pressures can be overwhelming. In counseling, you’ll gain tools to better understand your child’s behavior, improve communication, and set healthy boundaries. Whether you’re supporting a struggling teen or simply seeking guidance in the digital age, therapy can help you feel more confident and connected as a parent.
Counseling for Anxiety & Stress Management: Generalized Anxiety, Overwhelm, Self-Doubt
Anxiety and chronic stress can feel like constant companions, draining your energy and leaving you feeling stuck. Whether you’re managing generalized anxiety, ongoing overwhelm, or persistent self-doubt, therapy offers practical tools and emotional support to calm your mind and regain control. Together, we’ll identify the root causes of your stress, build healthy coping strategies, and empower you to move through life with greater ease, balance, and confidence.
Counseling for Self-Esteem & Identity: Rebuilding Confidence, Self-Worth, and Purpose
Struggling with self-esteem, self-worth, or identity shifts can impact every area of your life. Therapy provides a compassionate space to rediscover your strengths, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with your sense of purpose. Whether you’re questioning who you are, healing from past wounds, or seeking clarity about your future, we’ll work together to help you feel grounded, empowered, and confident in your true self.
Counseling for Women’s Issues: Perfectionism, Burnout, Caretaking Fatigue, Rediscovering Self, Perimenopause and Menopause
Women often carry invisible loads—perfectionism, burnout, caretaking fatigue, and the emotional toll of life transitions. Perimenopause and menopause can add physical, emotional, and identity shifts that feel isolating or confusing. In therapy, you’ll find a supportive space to talk openly about these experiences, process your emotions, and rediscover yourself. Together, we’ll help you set boundaries, release unrealistic expectations, and embrace the next chapter of your life with confidence and compassion.
My Story
When I’m not in the counseling space, you’ll often find me out in nature with my loyal companion—my certified therapy dog. Together, we’ve volunteered in schools, hospitals, and community programs, offering comfort and connection to those in need. Watching how people light up around him reminded me of the power of presence, empathy, and nonverbal support, all things I try to bring into the therapy room, too.
I'm also deeply passionate about supporting women as they move through major life transitions, particularly perimenopause and menopause. These phases can be deeply disorienting, emotionally, physically, and even spiritually. As someone who has walked that road, I know how isolating it can feel when your body is changing, your roles are shifting, and the world doesn’t always offer clear answers or compassionate support. I believe women deserve space to talk about these changes openly, to grieve what’s passing, and to embrace what’s emerging.
Whether you're navigating hormonal shifts, rethinking your relationships, or wondering who you are outside of motherhood or caretaking, I’m here to help you make sense of it all with warmth, wisdom, and zero judgment.
