Hello!
I’m Lauren Veazey (she/her), MA LPCC NCC, a licensed professional counselor candidate serving clients in Colorado and the Assistant Practice Manager at Her Time Therapy, PLLC. I’m so glad you’re here!

You might be facing challenges around fertility, experiencing difficulty in your perinatal/postpartum period, or struggling under the weight of motherhood. Perhaps you’re feeling disconnected from who you once were due to a life transition, loss of a loved one, or a shift in your relationship. Or, you might not be entirely sure what led you to seek therapy—you know you want to feel better. I’ve been there too.

There is hope in turning toward your pain, embracing life’s complexities, and finding your peace within—and I’m ready to help you on your path to healing.

My Approach to Therapy:
It’s important to me that you feel safe to be your real, authentic self during our sessions, so my attention is focused on understanding, supporting, and challenging you in a compassionate and non-judgemental way. My clients appreciate my warmth, positive energy, and (admittedly cheesy) sense of humor.

I believe that change is possible, and everyone is worthy of a life well lived. Yes, life is tough—but so are you. To support you in uncovering your innate strengths and cultivating skills to cope with the challenges you face, I offer a client-centered, holistic approach to therapy informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and feminist-based modalities.
My Ideal Client:
I have a passion for helping women confront emotional and mental obstacles, particularly those related to navigating the complexities of fertility/the perinatal period/motherhood, processing grief and loss, and managing anxiety.
Do you tend to take better care of others than you do yourself? Do you frequently worry that you’re not doing enough or that you’re not enough? Do you feel overwhelmed by the many roles women in today’s society are tasked with and expected to be perfect in? And are you ready to claim the time and space for yourself to focus on your mental health and gain the confidence, strength, and clarity needed to heal and thrive in your life? Then I think we’d make a great fit!
The Concerns I Specialize in Treating:
Counseling for Anxiety
Anxiety can manifest in many forms, from constant worry and fear to physical symptoms that disrupt your daily life. It can be overwhelming and sometimes paralyzing, but you don’t have to manage it alone. I specialize in helping clients understand the roots of their anxiety, develop effective coping strategies, and create a toolkit for managing stress. Using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness techniques, we will work together to reduce your anxiety and improve your overall quality of life.
My Story:
I grew up in Fort Collins, CO and when it came time for me to attend college, I was torn on whether to become an English teacher or a mental health therapist. As a first-generation college student and the oldest child in my family, I didn’t have any guidance on how to make such a decision and was basing my choice on a handful of tidbits I was confident about: I knew I wanted to help people, I was an avid reader endlessly fascinated by the human condition, and I’d often been told I was a good listener.

I ultimately chose to pursue a career in education, but in my fifteen-year career in the field, the invisible pull to become a therapist followed me around. My desire to change careers was further solidified after the birth of my second child when I experienced postpartum anxiety. I felt out of control and would have prolonged bouts of all-consuming worry that affected me mentally, physiologically, and emotionally. Therapy helped me learn how to live my life—in all its complicated, challenging glory—by cultivating resilience and a deep sense of well-being, and I am passionate about helping my clients do the same.

Now I live in Longmont, CO with my husband and two young children. I love reading, taking long walks, being silly with my kids, and doing puzzles while listening to podcasts (nerd alert!)
