My Story

I grew up in Maryland playing soccer and developing goals of helping others from a young age. After graduating with my Bachelors in Family Studies from Towson University, I moved to Texas where I began teaching. After struggling with low points in life I found a passion that brought peace and health to my life--martial arts. I competed professionally for 10 years, even making it to the highest level of my sport by competing in the UFC. I've personally experienced the benefits of mindfulness and of psychotherapy, which is why I now aim to be a resource to others. I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of West Alabama and began practicing as a therapist in 2020. As a therapist, I enjoy working with many individuals from different ages, backgrounds, and populations. My passion is to serve as a guide to those who are suffering and help them find a life of meaning and peace.

My Framework

Therapy can work in a number of different ways, depending on the counselor. I possess experience in working with individuals across the life span with developmental & intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges, anxiety, trauma, and systemic based oppression. I'm particularly passionate about working with competitive athletes and those struggling with issues related to intersectionality or difficulty in navigating the justice system. Although I have worked with individuals of all ages, most of my experience is in working with children and families. My therapeutic approach is person-centered and is grounded in modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solutions-focused, and family systems. In our work, I will offer many different tools to support the development of your empowerment and sense of agency, starting exactly where you are.
